HI Paul!
Thats great that you are come to our community! :) I send you the e-mail, and make the entry in the "other" (backup) Daihatsu Forum. Did I see that right that in Hong Kong the YRV 1.0 is not avaiable? HERE you can see pictures from my YRV GTti ( i buyed it with this crash) so I want to build in the engine and automatic gearbox into my YRV (k3-ve, manual gearbox). http://www.daihatsu-forum.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11 |

there has no 1.0 engine in HK.
in HK no Manual transmission Turbo YRV can buy from dealer I knew some poeple in HK modify their Turbo YRV with the non-turbo YRV manual transmission. Better handling, accelartion and fuel comsumtion. But cluth may cannot handle the power of the Turbo engine, you may need to change it in future. if you want your A/T turbo YRV has better preformace, you may try to some electronics device to adjust the timing of the gear change and respond time. Buddy Club (Japan Products) has a computer to change the setting of your A/T computer. Also it can adjust the air and fuel timing by this tiny computer you may see this page for reference...but it is in japanese you may get some ideas from their pictures spec B computer is for A/T car and Spec A computer for M/T car Spec B http://www.first-inc.co.jp/buddyclub/compter/specb.html Spec A http://www.first-inc.co.jp/buddyclub/compter/speca.html you can see Spec A is fit for M201G, as I knew Spec B also can fit M201G too |

No, I'm surly not want to use the manual transmission with the Turbo engine. The YRV is loud enogh if you drive more than 130km/h.
He is very quit with the turbo engine with the a/t (same speed at about 4000 RPM) And next year when we meeting us to the 2nd Daihatsu owner meeting in Germany I have to drive about 1000km each way, and I want to drive as fast as possible (on most german highways is absolut NO speed-limit ) I see that the meter in your YRV's is with a smaler "bandwith" for the top-speed. Here you can see what I mean (pictured on german highway ) |

@Paul
Can you tell me what is the maximum speed on your Highways and if you know what is maximum speed on japanese highways. Here in Austria we have a speed limit from 130 kp/h, in switzerland is it 120 kp/h, and in germany on most highways there is NO speed-limit. |

Dear Rainer
I knew that there has some highways in germany has no speed limit, I saw some japanese car video, which testing their car in germany highway. Hong Kong we just only have some short highway, and Police around everywhere to catch speeding driver by photo rader or laser gun. If caught by speeding, tickets and points will be deduct, if speeding few more times, will be suspend driver lincence for a year. The fastest speed limit highway in Hong Kong is 120km/H, of course lot of people speeding by ignoring the speed limit, just see how much luck they having . The fastest I drove my YRV is about 185km/h. ABout the "Tiptronic" transmission, kind of very slow respond. It made me mostly have few times have accidents, it won't shift down while doing late braking right before the corner turn. I will go take some pictures later and post in here about the different of YRV from Hong Kong thanx |
