It depends on how the previous owner(s) maintained it. If properly driven and maintained, you shouldn't have any problems with it. The greatest advantage of an automatic over a manual gearbox is that you never have to replace the clutch.
The newer "automatic" gearboxes are nothing more than a conventional manual gearbox which is shifted through electronically-operated mechanisms. In other words, you and I have the most trouble-free automatic types, because under extreme conditions, the most modern ones will sooner or later require clutch plate replacement.
