Vibration in reverse
Hello i have L701 automatic and when i go reverse i have vibration inside a car. What i must change?
|
This car has a 3-cylinder-engine and as alwas on (older) Petrol engines, the idle can slightly vary, since it is not as fastly adjusted as on diesel engines.
If that doesn't vibrate, the engine is not on. Do you have a Rev-counter? What does it indicate? In advance: There is two things at least, what you could do: If the engine idles too low, you can say, that it is probable that the idle controller has a problem. That sometimes happens due to its age, and sometimes because some engine oil is sucked into the inlet through the valvetrain housings vent or the crankshafts vent and that clogs up the idle controller If it is just vibrations, that may be because the engine mounts vibration dampers are aged or worn out. As long as the engine stays on when it should be on in Idle, no of those two possibilities is really urgent to fix. Since it is an automatic transmission, you should consider a change of the ATF regularly. I can't remember the interval for that. To change ATF regularly prolongs the lifetime of the transmisson and helps it to work as intended. Have you checked the oil level of the engine? The other elementary thing about long term reliability of just about any car... |
Thanks a lot for advices.I change the oil engine but nit the ATF.
I must do it. Thanks a lot. |
He explained that the vehicle vibrates only in reverse. This seems like slippage band is the symptom. Since you are going to change the fluid, I would also replace the filter.
Make sure to examine the old fluid and filter for debris. Grey matter is normal to find. But, not an excessive amount. If you see metal shavings, this would be a cause for concern. Nevertheless, if the transmission ceases to vibrate with the new fluid and filter, then it'll be fine |
The automatic gear filter cost?
|
That's a good question. The only one I could find in the internet would be shipped from Australia. The shipment alone costs more than the filter itself.
Which country are you residing in? Greece or Cyprus? |
As far as I know, one would have to open the transmission to change its filter. At least my Cuore L251 didn't have a possibility for fast and simple change of the ATF-filter. Wouldn't want to do that just out of a suspicion.
In the best case, it is as simple as a loose Screw on one of the Transmissions mounting points. Unfortunately I don't remember on what car model I heard of such a cause for vibrations. Was it the Materia? It wasn't the cuore. |
Maybe is the front mount engine.
Filter for auto transmission where i can buy one? |
There were 22 Daihatsu dealerships in Greece. Some of them are likely to still service Daihatsus.
One used to be located in Volos. The name and adress: K.N. Kotinopoulos Agria (0421) 92938 Paying them a visit is much easier than to attempt finding a filter through the internet |
I know the person but tell me not tobreplace the filter because it cost 100euro and oil 50 and he want for him 50euros.Total 200euros.I think its to expensive for me.

I search and found this issue.
"I am not sure but he open the dashboard drawer and pull it out. behind that drawer there was a lot of electrical circuits and component and one of the relay was not working. He told me that if you turn on your AC there is no impact on the RPM of your car its mean that this relay is not working. Turning AC on and off should impact on the RPM of your car but bcz that relay was not working so may car RPM was consent even when i turn on my AC. so when he replaced that relay car RPM started to up and down while i turn on my ac. he also set the RPM to 1200. now i can feel that is vibration less |

100 € for a filter seems too expensive. This automatic transmission is the same one used by other Japanese brands. I would suggest that you visit a Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru or Toyota garage and ask them about performing the service. If they agree to do it, it means that they have the parts. If the filter and oil are indeed the problem, neglecting repair will be even more expensive, as soon as the transmission is damaged from neglect |
Ok.Thanks for advice.
|
I did not know that it is possible to adjust the idle rpm on that engine. What did your friend do to set it?
Normally, the rpm is electronically adjusted and there is nothing to adjust. The rpm is programmed in the ECU and then adjusted via a small electrical device on the throttle body. The screw to adjust the throttle valve position is sealed. If that is changed, the engine won't pass the exhaust gas test most likely. Not to mention that it affects fuel consumption in a negative way, if the idle is risen over factory state. |
|
Here is a list of possible filter kits. This is how much they should cost. Unfortunately, the shipping is more expensive than the item. I think, the item is exported from The U.S., because the shipment from Australia is usually even more expensive: https://www.ebay.com/b/Transmission-...662/bn_1489853
