			There is a rubbergasket inside the valve cover - heat, age and oil destroy it over the years ... better look for another valve cover to fix that problem .

			I see, now. The oil film is found on the engine's exterior. The rubber gaskets tend to become brittle. I had to replace mine also. They are not expensive

			No. The sparkplugs use a metal gasket. The oil is likely seeping out from one or both valve covers and is settling around the lowest point which is the sparkplug area. This was a typical fault with a similar FIAT design

			Yes. Before you remove the sparkplugs, you should apply solvent sourounding the plugs. Then, blow away the solvent and oil, using compressed air. Otherwise, you will risk debris entering the cylinder when the sparkplug has been removed

			As long as the Ignition works, you can save the money. On my L251 (same engine), I had always some Oil on top of the Spark Plugs. Never had an Issue with that. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
			As far as I know, there is pretty much no EJ-engine, which doesn't have that Oil seal leak against the spark plug, no matter if new or old. Just wipe the Spark plug connector clean when it has been taken out.
